Our sustainable approach to business means we aspire to waste less and recycle more. We realised that recycling made financial and environmental sense for our customers too, so in 2007 we applied for funding from WRAP. After a rigorous judging process, we were one of only three companies to be awarded funds, enabling us to invest in state-of-the art washing plant.
We now recycle a large amount of what used to be waste, by producing and supplying high grade secondary aggregates in line with WRAP and AggRegain protocols.
This vision and long term commitment to the environment saw us recognised with Southend Business Awards for Environmental Awareness, three years running.
As corporate members of Essex Wildlife Trust, we have worked for them
on Two Tree Island which houses a nature reserve. We have also completed ecology mitigation projects for the MOD on Foulness Island, which is internationally famous as a haven for birds and wildlife.
